KPI-Based Compensation & Salary Deductions
Compensation at TechAbout is KPI-based. Every employee is assigned tasks (KPIs) with due dates. Completing 100% of your tasks due each month is a requirement of the role, not an option. Salary is calculated with this in mind.
The monthly KPI deduction
At payroll, we count the tasks that were due within the month and how many you completed. Any shortfall is deducted from your gross salary at the same percentage:
KPI Shortfall Deduction = Gross Salary × (1 − Completed ÷ Due)
- 100% completed → no deduction.
- Example: 10 tasks due, 9 completed = 90% → 10% of gross is deducted.
- Example: 10 tasks due, 7 completed = 70% → 30% of gross is deducted.
There is no upper cap on this deduction: a month with a large shortfall can reduce a salary substantially. Full monthly KPI completion is expected of everyone.
How to avoid a deduction
- Complete every assigned task on or before its due date.
- Track your progress on the Tasks page of your employee portal — it shows tasks due this month, how many you have completed, and your projected deduction.
- You will also receive weekly reminders if tasks remain incomplete.
Other standard deductions
Your payslip may also include, per company policy and law:
- Provident Fund — 10% of base salary.
- Income Tax — as per current FBR salaried slabs (FY 2026–27).
- Late arrival — after a 15-minute grace and two allowed lates per month, each further late deducts half a day.
- Leave / absence — unpaid leave or absent days are deducted per day.
If you believe a task was assigned or dated in error, raise it with your manager or HR before month-end, while it can still be corrected.
